Overview

Day 1: Tokyo
Upon landing at Haneda or Narita Airport, you will be greeted by an English-speaking assistant in the arrivals hall.  Enjoy a comfortable transfer to your Tokyo hotel via private car, accompanied by your English-speaking assistant who will ensure a seamless journey and help with any questions. The assistant will provide you with key travel items to ensure a smooth journey:
•              JR Bullet Train Ticket for intercity travel.
•              PASMO Card, pre-loaded with JPN 4500 (plus a JPN 500 deposit), for convenient use of Tokyo's public transportation system.
•              Hakone Free Pass (3 Days) for unlimited travel across the Hakone region.
The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy at your leisure. You can relax at the hotel, explore nearby areas, or indulge in Tokyo's vibrant dining and shopping scenes. Check-in time begins at 15:00. If you arrive early, you may store your luggage at the hotel and explore nearby attractions.

Day 2: Tokyo - Explore Tokyo's Iconic Landmarks (Private Guide)
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at your accommodation to energize for an exciting day of exploration.  Your English-speaking guide will greet you in the hotel lobby. Together, you'll embark on a full day of Tokyo sightseeing using the city's efficient public transportation system (Pay by PASMO card).  Begin your adventure with breathtaking views from the Tokyo Tower's main deck. This iconic landmark offers a panoramic perspective of the city's sprawling metropolis. Stroll through the Imperial Palace Plaza, where you can admire the striking contrast between traditional Japanese architecture and modern Tokyo. This peaceful setting provides excellent photo opportunities.  Explore Tokyo's historic Asakusa district, starting with the Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo's oldest and most famous temple. Wander through Nakamise Arcade, a vibrant shopping street lined with stalls offering souvenirs, traditional snacks, and local crafts. Enjoy some free time to savour Tokyo's culinary delights at your leisure. (Lunch expenses are not included in the package.) In the afternoon, you will get to experience the beauty of Tokyo from the water with a scenic cruise along the Sumida River. Glide from Asakusa to the futuristic waterfront district of Odaiba, taking in views of iconic landmarks like the Rainbow Bridge along the way. Conclude your day back at your hotel. Your guide will accompany you and bid farewell as the tour ends at the hotel.

Day 3: Tokyo
Breakfast at hotel. Enjoy a full day to explore Tokyo at your own pace. With its mix of traditional culture and modern innovation, the city offers countless opportunities for discovery. Here are some suggestions for how to make the most of your day:
•              Meiji Shrine: A serene Shinto shrine surrounded by a tranquil forested park.
•              Senso-ji Temple (Asakusa): Tokyo's oldest and most famous temple, paired with shopping at Nakamise Street.
•              Edo-Tokyo Museum: Dive into Tokyo's fascinating history through interactive exhibits.
•              Shibuya: Experience the iconic Shibuya Crossing and shop at trendy boutiques.
•              Ginza: High-end shopping and elegant cafes.
•              Ueno Park: Stroll through lush gardens, visit museums, or explore the zoo.
•              Tsukiji Outer Market: Savor fresh seafood and local delicacies.

Day 4: Tokyo – Hakone
Start your day with breakfast at the hotel and prepare for your journey to Hakone. Check out from the hotel, ensuring you have organized an overnight bag with essentials for your 2-night stay in Hakone.  For added convenience, your main luggage will be collected from your Tokyo hotel and transferred directly to your Kyoto hotel, where it will be securely stored until your check-in.  Make your way to Shinjuku Station by using your PASMO card for Tokyo's efficient public transportation system.  From Shinjuku use your Hakone Free Pass to board the express train to Hakone-Yumoto Station.  The journey to Hakone-Yumoto Station takes approximately 2 hours, offering scenic views as you leave the bustling city and approach the serene mountain region. Check-in at your Hakone hotel begins at 15:00. Use the free time before check-in to relax, explore Hakone's natural beauty, or visit nearby attractions such as hot springs or art museums.

Day 5:  Hakone
Spend your day at leisure exploring the scenic beauty, cultural landmarks, and rejuvenating experiences that Hakone has to offer. With your Hakone Free Pass, enjoy unlimited access to transportation within the region and discover its many attractions at your own pace.
•              Lake Ashi (Ashinoko) Take a relaxing cruise on a pirate ship replica for stunning views of the lake, framed by Mount Fuji on clear days.
•              Savor Hakone’s famous black eggs at Owakudani.
•              Try traditional soba noodles, kaiseki (multi-course Japanese cuisine), or delicious wagashi (Japanese sweets) at local eateries. With its serene landscapes, cultural richness, and relaxing atmosphere, Hakone offers something for every traveller. Whether you choose to immerse yourself in nature, explore its art and history, or simply relax in an onsen, this day of leisure in Hakone promises to be a memorable one.

Day 6:  Hakone - Kyoto
Begin your day with a leisurely breakfast at the hotel before check-out. Ensure all your belongings are packed for your journey.   Use your Hakone Free Pass to reach Odawara Station.  Board the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Odawara to Kyoto.  The train ride takes approximately 2 hours and offers a smooth, comfortable journey.  Enjoy views of Mount Fuji and Japan's picturesque countryside along the way. Upon arriving at Kyoto Station, make your own way to your hotel Use your PASMO card for easy payment. Use the remainder of the day to relax or begin discovering Kyoto at your own pace. Suggestions include:

•              Nishiki Market: Explore this vibrant food market, perfect for sampling Kyoto delicacies.
•              Pontocho Alley: Stroll through this atmospheric area with traditional restaurants and tea houses.
•              Gion District: Discover Kyoto’s famous geisha district with historic wooden machiya houses.
Check-in time begins at 15:00. If you arrive early, you may store your luggage at the hotel and explore nearby attractions.

Day 7: Kyoto – City Tour (Private Guide)
After enjoying a delightful breakfast, meet your English-speaking guide in the hotel lobby.
Begin your full-day adventure through Kyoto using public transportation (please ensure to pay with your PASMO card). Your first stop will be the iconic Fushimi Inari Shrine, famous for its thousands of vibrant red torii gates that trail up the sacred Mount Inari.  Next, visit Tofukuji Temple, renowned for its stunning Zen gardens and beautiful seasonal foliage. After the morning explorations, take some time to enjoy lunch at a local eatery (lunch is on your own). In the afternoon, continue your journey to the magnificent Kiyomizudera Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its wooden stage that offers breathtaking views of the cherry and maple trees below.  Stroll through the historic Higashiyama District, where traditional tea houses and shops line the cobblestone streets then explore the charming streets of Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka, two picturesque slopes filled with traditional architecture and local crafts. Your guide will conclude the tour to your hotel.                          

Day 8: Kyoto
Breakfast at hotel. Today is yours to explore the enchanting city of Kyoto at your own pace. With its rich cultural heritage, beautiful temples, and vibrant streets, you can choose from a myriad of activities. Here are some suggestions to inspire your adventure:
•              Visit Arashiyama: Take a stroll through the iconic Bamboo Grove, visit the serene Tenryuji Temple, or relax by the river.
•              Explore the Historic Districts: Wander through Gion and Pontocho, where you may spot a geisha and enjoy the traditional architecture and tea houses.
•              Discover Temples and Shrines: Consider visiting the breathtaking Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion) or the serene Ryoanji rock garden.
•              Indulge in Local Cuisine: Treat yourself to a traditional kaiseki meal or sample street food at Nishiki Market.               

Day 9: Kyoto – Hiroshima
Enjoy an early breakfast at your hotel to fuel up for the day ahead.  After breakfast, check out of your hotel and remember to pack an overnight bag for your 2-night stay in Hiroshima. For your convenience, we will arrange your main luggage to be transferred directly from your Kyoto hotel to your Osaka hotel – it will be safely stored until your arrival to Osaka. Make your way to Kyoto Station to board the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Hiroshima. The journey will be an exciting experience, allowing you to take in the scenic views of Japan's countryside. Upon your arrival in Hiroshima, navigate to your hotel for check-in and settle into your accommodations to relax or explore the surrounding area.

Day 10: Hiroshima
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, explore some of the city's key attractions at your own pace. Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park: Visit this poignant park dedicated to the victims of the atomic bombing. The park features several memorials, including the iconic Atomic Bomb Dome and the Peace Memorial Museum, which provides a deep insight into the events of August 6, 1945. Okonomiyaki: For lunch, try Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, a savoury pancake layered with ingredients like noodles, cabbage, and meat or seafood. There are many local restaurants where you can enjoy this delicious dish. Day Trip to Miyajima: If you have more time, consider taking a ferry to Miyajima Island to see the famous "floating" torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine and enjoy the scenic beauty of the island.                    

Day 11: Hiroshima – Osaka
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel. Check-out of your hotel, make sure you have all. Your belongings.  Make your way to Hiroshima station for your boarding of the Shinkansen train to Shin Osaka. Enjoy this comfortable & scenic journey.  Once you arrive at Osaka, follow the signs to transfer to the local trains or subway to reach your hotel for check-in (use your PASMO card) Early Evening you will meet your guide at your hotel lobby for a Nightime food tour (PASMO card) Explore the vibrant Dotonbori area, which is famous for its neon lights, street food & lively atmosphere.  The Guide will take you to visa a few local eateries where you can sample Osaka’s famous dishes.  After the food tour, the guide will help to navigate the public transportation back to your hotel.

Day 12: Osaka
Start your day with a delicious breakfast, fuelling up for a day of exploration.Enjoying a free day in Osaka after breakfast at your hotel gives you the perfect opportunity to explore the city at your own pace. Here are some suggestions for how to make the most of your day:
•              Visit the iconic Osaka Castle, surrounded by beautiful gardens. Explore the castle’s interior to learn about its history and enjoy panoramic views from the top
•              Head to Shitenno-ji, one of Japan's oldest temples. The tranquil atmosphere and beautiful architecture make it a great spot for a peaceful morning.
•              Explore the Shinsaibashi Shopping Arcade, a vibrant shopping area with a mix of international brands and local boutiques. It’s a great place to pick up souvenirs.

Day 13: Osaka - Home
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel. Take this time to savour some local delicacies and prepare for your journey home.  Check out of your hotel & ensure you have packed all your belongings. Depending on your flight time, meet your driver in the hotel lobby.   Enjoy a comfortable ride to Kansai Airport. The journey typically takes around 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic. During the ride, reflect on your trip and enjoy the last views of Osaka!
